Magic wand for on-brand creatives!

Inspired by Project Fizzion – a new AI-powered design system co-developed by The Coca-Cola Company and Adobe, I thought of experimenting with branded templatization in Adobe Express (without any customization of Firefly model) to see how far it can help in standardizing the content within set brand guidelines. And what could be better than creating an on-brand presentation – bread and butter of designers in corporate!

It didn’t disappoint.

Importing brand assets
I started with adding my dummy brand’s assets under ‘Brands’ section. Adobe Express connects with Google Drive, Google Photo, Dropbox and One Drive for easy and one-stop access to your storages to fetch the assets. Logo files could be classified as primary and secondary for ease and vector format is supported as well.

Setting elements as per Brand guidelines
Once logo files, other assets were uploaded, I created a colour swatch of the brand colours followed by selecting brand fonts. Another good thing is the demarcation of heading and Body copy fonts.
PS. you can save multiple brand guidelines and assets if you work with more than one brand.

Applying brand
After uploading all my brand assets and details, I picked up a presentation template from the standard template library of Adobe Express. The template changed into brand colours and the text picked the heading and body copy fonts the moment I clicked ‘Apply Brand’.
Once the brand was applied, every new page, layout, composition and elements like charts and tables added to the presentation were as per the defined brand.

Adding images and multimedia
What made it even more fun was the ability to generate images not just on Firefly but also with Stable Diffusion XL – Adobe’s partnered Gen AI model (included in the regular license) and the ability to add multimedia without moving away from Express. With some quirky (and not-so-PowerPoint like) animation options, I was able to create a couple of engaging, on-brand slides in no time.

Collaboration and sharing
Adobe Express is a collaborative tool, enabling designers to share feedback and collaborate in real time.
The only challenge I observed was that the presentation could only be downloaded in PDF format – removing the multimedia features from the file. However, I loved the feature allowing the creator to add accessibility tags while downloading the file. As an alternative to PDF download, Adobe Express also enables creation of a link that could be shared for viewing or commenting without requiring the viewer to log in.

Adobe Firefly is one of the very rare Gen AI models that are commercially safe to use – something that puts it one step ahead of its competitors. Its integration with the Adobe ecosystem makes creating the presentation fun, with access to so many tools and features without moving away from the core creation surface and the compliance to the defined brand guidelines! While it lacks the human imagination and ideation, it is definitely a good quick fix for brand consistency especially when the focus is on quantity.
